  2. working on a new version of Bird Songs that will add some new features.

  9. Version 1.3 fixes some silly bugs that were introduced in version 1.2.

  13. It also incorporates a sound level control menu.  The program remembers the 
  14. Mac sound level and resets it upon quitting Bird Songs.  It also remembers
  15. the Bird Songs sound setting, and resets the Mac to that level the next time
  16. Bird Songs is launched.

  20. Bird Songs 1.2 (Release date June 24, 1995): Improvement from version 1.1

  22. Version 1.2 adds a few nifty features.

  24. The Play List item has been added to the Bird Songs menu .  When selecting 
  25. Play List, the program plays through the current bird list from top to 
  26. bottom once. If you switch to background after selecting this item, Bird 
  27. Songs will continue to play in this mode until it finishes the list.

  29. A Save As... menu item was added to the file menu.

  31. The List Manager dialog box has added an Alphabetical Order button so you
  32. can now make your list in alphabetical order.

  34. Bird Songs™ now supports Apple Events.  At this juncture, only the required
  35. events are supported, open application, open document, print document (opens 
  36. document), and quit.  Using AppleScript, you now can partially control Bird
  37. Songs™, even from a remote computer.  More extensive AppleScript control 
  38. is planned for future versions of Bird Songs™.

  42. Bird Songs 1.1 (Release date March 14, 1995): Improvement from version 1.0.3

  44. Bird Songs 1.1 introduces the next generation of Bird Songs.  As described 
  45. in the Read Me files, Bird Songs 2.0 will support play on Mac systems with 
  46. CD ROM players.  Bird Songs 2.0 and the CDs (East or West North American 
  47. Birds) are available through ProtoHype.  High density floppy disks will still
  48. be available to those who do not have a CD ROM.

  50. Added features include 1) Display of bird name in game mode when player
  51. chooses Next! because giving up. 2) When a custom list is in use, summoning
  52. the List Manager dialog will result in the current list being displayed in
  53. the result box. This way the user can build from a current list rather than
  54. having to build from scratch. 3) Balloon Help has been added to all windows,
  55. menus, and dialogs.

  62. Bird Songs 1.0.3 (Release date February 18, 1995): Improvement from version 1.0.2

  64. Eliminated problem (I hope) where no birds found in BS window after 
  65. launching program because  a bird list file had been thrown away. If 
  66. the program cannot find a file,  it will reset the list to default. Fixed 
  67. other problems regarding files including rejection of launching by double
  68. clicking a bird file or the preferences file.

  70. Fixed a bug where some Macs bomb when the program is terminated
  71. while a song is still playing. Minor cursor adjustments have been made.

  87. This patch will upgrade your Bird Songs application and fix the bug that
  88. seems to be affecting some Mac computers. Even if your Mac isn't showing
  89. the symptoms (unable to find any sound files in Bird Files folder) you should
  90. run the patch.
